Watched: Perry Mason Season 1 🍿

👍

Season 1 of this show was just so good. Writing this after finally watching through all nine seasons. Raymond Burr (or maybe it was the writers) refined the character in the next 8 seasons to have Perry not so willing to really push the envelope on how he handles cases. They also really pushed the hinted-at relationship between Mason and Della Street.

And as a red-blooded, cis white man, oh the women. So many gorgeous women in all 9 seasons of this show but I’ve got a real soft spot for Barbara Hale. The then 35-year old Hale was … 🚬🔥

Yowza.

Great to see the series back for another season. First episode was great and started introducing how things ended up with everyone in silos.

Every time he writes about it I never understand why John Gruber spends so much time railing against Electron and Electron-based applications, while at the same time using the phrase “Mac-assed”. I know which is worse and it’s not Electron 🤣

As cool as the Chicago street races were It’s great to see NASCAR back at Chicagoland Speedway this weekend. It’s been 7 years since the last time on the 1.5 miler!

Thankful that it’s going to be significantly cooler today here in Chicagoland. I feel fortunate that we didn’t have a run of heat like they had in Europe.

I keep wanting to like the Vivaldi web browser but something about it is just off for me.

Terrible. Tomatometer rating of 28% for a good reason. Nevertheless there are 4 and 5 star reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. I guess you can never count on someone having good taste. One reviewer gave it 5 stars and said “I love a film that leaves me gasping.” Me too when it’s not a film that leaves me gasping for the wrong reasons. How does Guy Pearce go from movies like L.A. Confidential, The Kings Speech, and Memento to trash like this?

Just a friendly reminder that today, 7/2, is the midpoint of the year. It’s all downhill from here! 🤣

Ever feel like a bunch of small failures might lead to something that finally feels right and sticks? Me too.
